FAQs

What time does the tour take place?

Flight time depends solely on agreement with the operators. The flight time requested by the Passenger at the time of booking may be already booked, therefore Balkan Helicopters proposes the first available time. Due to the volume of air traffic and / or operational reasons, take-off time and landing time are approximate and may vary +/- 30min.

What if I want to make a change to my booking?

Reservation, as well as all information, flight change, and/or cancellation, is made exclusively through the e-mail address (info@balkanhelicopters.rs) and we will reply to you as soon as possible.
18. In case the Passenger wishes to move the flight to another date, he loses the right to a refund and the purchased ticket assumes the gift voucher status, which means that the Passenger is entitled to two more dates to use the flight, but without the possibility of a refund. In this case, the Passenger is obliged to contact “Balkan Helicopters” d.o.o. to schedule the next date, not later than 6 months from the date of initial purchase of the ticket. In the event that during the second scheduled appointment a flight shift is required, if the cancellation is made by “Balkan Helicopters” d.o.o., Passenger is entitled to another optional date (if that date and time is not already occupied). In case of cancellation / postponement of the second date by “Balkan Helicopters” d.o.o., Passenger is obliged to cancel the flight at least 4 days earlier, otherwise the flight shall be considered used and not entitled to the third date. Passenger is obliged to contact “Balkan Helicopters” d.o.o. to schedule the third date, at the latest 6 months from the date of initial purchase of the ticket.

What if I need to cancel my booking?

In case you have a gift voucher, money refund is not possible, but you can choose other date and time.

In case you have a flight ticket and you have made a reservation if you would like to cancel your reservation, money will be returned as following:
– Four days prior to your scheduled flight, 100% of the amount paid
– Three days prior to your scheduled flight, 50% of the amount paid
– Two days prior to your scheduled flight, 30% of the amount paid
– One day prior to your scheduled flight, no refund will be made

In case of cancellation of the flight by the Buyer, the Buyer is obligated to fill in the „Statement of withdrawal of the contract concluded at a distance or a contract concluded outside the business premises“ and deliver it via e-mail address: info@balkanhelicopters.rs , otherwise a refund will not be possible. Refunds are made within 7 working days from the day the flight is cancelled.

Can Balkan Helicopters cancel my flight?

“Balkan Helicopters” d.o.o. reserves the right to cancel flights at short notice due to poor weather or other conditions that may affect flight safety. In the event your flight is cancelled by us, the flight ticket/voucher will remain valid, but the flight must be rebooked for a mutually convenient date. Vouchers that are booked for the first time in the last month of validity of the voucher will only be rebooked to the voucher expiry date unless extended.
Cancellation conditions are:
– Bad weather (reduced visibility, fog, heavy precipitation, low ceiling, etc.)
– Pilot illness
– Technical issues
– Flight restrictions due to airspace closures

In case the Buyer wants to postpone the flight, the Buyer loses the right to a refund and takes over the purchased ticket as a gift voucher, which means that the Buyer is entitled to use two more flight dates to use the flight, but without the possibility of a refund. In that case, the Buyer is obliged to contact the Service Provider in order to schedule the next date, no later than 6 months from the date of ticket purchase.
In case the flight is requested to be postponed during the second scheduled date, if the cancellation is made by the Service Provider, the Buyer is entitled to another flight date of his/hers choice (if the date and time are not already booked). In the case of cancellation of another date by the Buyer, the Buyer is obliged to do so minimum of 4 days in advance, otherwise the flight will be considered as completed and is not entitled to a third date. The Buyer is obliged to contact the Service Provider for scheduling a third flight date, not later than 6 months from the date of ticket purchase. If the Buyer does not use the flight within these 6 months, and has not previously extended the duration of the voucher, there will be no more flight dates possible.

Is there anything I can’t have in my possession on a flight?

Objects which can affect flight safety, persons or goods, as stated in DANGEROUS GOOD REGULATION, and are strictly prohibited from carrying on board, are:
– Firearms (including replicas or toys)
– Explosives (fireworks, flares, toy gun caps)
– Gases (compressive gas cylinders, tear gas, mace or CS devices)
– Gas powered devices
– Flammable materials (petrol, lighter fuel, paint, thinner, matches, fire lighters)
– Poisons (weed killers, insecticides)
– Corrosives (batteries, mercury)
– Sharp items, such as knives

Are there any health restrictions that might prevent me from flying?

The flight may not be suitable for persons who are pregnant, suffer from epilepsy, recent head injuries, recurrent fainting, blackouts, high blood pressure, heart conditions or back problems.

Are there any weight or age restrictions for flight?

Total mass of passengers must not exceed 255kg. Children aged 2-10 years may participate, but must also be able to sit in their own seat, and must fly accompanied by one parent or guardian. Children aged 11-18 require parental consent, while a parent or a guardian can be present on ground during the flight.

Are there any reasons why you might stop me from flying?

The pilot at his/her discretion may refuse any person on board the aircraft if he/she suspects them to have consumed alcohol or drugs within the previous 24 hours.

Will anybody I don’t know share my flight?

Unless you book an exclusive flight, you may be sharing the cabin of the helicopter with other passengers. If there is a low demand for your selected flight time, we may need to reschedule it. If this happens, we will do our utmost to contact you at least 24 hours before departure by telephone and email, using the details you provided at the time of booking.

Am I insured for my flight?

All prices include passenger insurance.

I have a voucher. How do I use it?

• The buyer is obliged to use the voucher within 6 (six) months from the date of payment.
• The buyer is obliged at least 4 days before the desired flight date to request an appointment for the flight.
• After the expiration of 6 (six) months from the date of payment, without the voucher being used, it becomes invalid and with impossibility of a refund.
• The voucher can be extended for a period of three months with an additional cost of 50 euros in dinars equivalent to be paid BEFORE the voucher expires. After the expiration of the specified date on the voucher, it cannot be renewed.
• The cost of gift vouchers is not refundable. They are transferable to another name if the name change is announced at least 7 days in advance.
• Gift vouchers can only be upgraded for a flight with a higher monetary value.
• It is necessary to provide the exact number of passengers, the exact names and surnames of each passenger and the weight of each passenger, with a note if there are children on the flight, as well as a contact phone number.
• Delay of the user is tolerated up to 30 minutes before take-off, when it will be possible to move the flight later in the day in accordance with the load of the Seller.
• In case of a delay of more than 30 minutes from the time indicated on the ticket, the flight is considered completed.
• The Buyer is obliged to inform all users of the voucher about the details of this Agreement related to helicopter flight and voucher use.

Is it possible to extend voucher expiry date?

Of course. In case the Buyer wants to extend expiry date, it is necessary to contact us before the voucher expiry date. Voucher expiry date is extended for another 3 months with 50 euros fee.

How long do I have to be at the heliport before my flight?

You are required to be at the heliport /take-off ground 30mins before your scheduled flight time to complete check-in, and for the safety briefing. Please note that late arrivals may result in you not being allowed to fly and no refund given.

Does the weather affect my flight?

Balkan Helicopters reserves the right to cancel flights at short notice due to poor weather (reduced visibility, fog and heavy rain and snow, low cloud ceiling), or other conditions that may affect flight safety.

In the event that the flight has started for the purpose of service completion and the flight is interrupted due to force majeure (force majeure is a natural event or human action that could not have been foreseen or prevented, and as a result of which damage occurred, provided that human action could not be attributed to the guilt of persons to whom responsibility would otherwise fall, such as: worsening meteorological conditions, flight control orders, etc.), as well as other unforeseen situations (passenger nausea, fear, etc.), it is considered that the service is fully completed and the Buyer is not entitled to a refund.

How will the Balkan Helicopters contact me?

All contact will be made, for weather and other related changes to bookings, via the email and mobile telephone number given by the Passenger at the time of booking.

Can I pick my seat?

The final seating in the helicopter is determined by the weights of all passengers in the flight. You can request a seat but we are unable to guarantee your seat in advance.

Are children full price?

Children up to 10 years of age hold a discount on tickets for 5/10-minute flights in the amount of 10%, if reservations are made directly through Balkan Helicopters.

How do I get to heliport /take-off ground?

What is the best time of the day to fly?

Flights are conducted exclusively during the period from sunrise to sunset in conditions of good visibility.

Do you fly over the city in any of the tours?

The City of Belgrade has strict regulations on the Helicopter Tourism Industry that does not allow us to fly over city center of Belgrade. Flight route is depending on type of ticket.

At which altitude do you fly?

Average altitude is from 150m to 300m above ground level.

How long does it take to take-off?

If the engine running up already, take-off is considered from the lift off moment to the safe climb regime, and it lasts up to 30sec.
In case the engine is not running, starting and take-off procedure may take up to 5mins.

How do I book a flight for special occasion?

In case of other than airport/heliport landing – If our pilots consider the location suitable for safe helicopter landing and take-off, it is necessary prior to flight to make a safety risk assessment for the take-off/landing site. This risk assessment involves arrival of the pilot to the location itself in order to reconnoiter the suitability of the terrain (the exact dimension and surfaces), the existence of obstacles, etc. This risk assessment is charged for regardless of the cost of the flight itself. The risk assessment costs include production of the assessment, as well as the cost of pilot transport to the selected location(s). If the take-off and landing location is privately or publicly owned, it is necessary for the Buyer to obtain written consent to use this location.
In the case of a charter flight, it is necessary to provide planned retention time.

We are family of four. Can we fly together?

The helicopter for 4 passengers is the Robinson R66. If you meet the requirements regarding maximum weights and if it is a panoramic flight, there should be no problem. In all other situations, please contact us. Each passenger must have their own seat and seat belt for safety reasons. Children may not sit on their parents’ laps.
